The Purpose of “Vella Bessah Deitsh Shvetza!”

We wanted to help guide those that are learning Pennsylvania Dutch. The goal is help them to speak in a way that will be easily understood by native speakers. There aren’t many resources for understanding the basic word order of a sentence, short of asking a native speaker, “Does this sound right?” After studying the information in this book, a Deitsh learner could begin to understand the basic structure of a Deitsh sentence. If we start to understand that, it could help us communicate better with a native.
